Brass - Gerald Douglas

Gerald Douglas has enjoyed a busy playing career, and has worked with most major professional orchestras in the region.  He spent many years playing with the City of Birmingham Symphony orchestra, mainly under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle and continues to play with Prince of Wales Brass which are a ten-piece brass ensemble made up of CBSO players.  At present he plays principal trumpet with the English Pro Musica orchestra and before that he was principal trumpet with the East of England orchestra (now Viva ) for over twenty years. It was with the East of England that he performed most of his solo performances, which includes the first live performance on Radio 3 of the orchestra, playing Proclamation for Trumpet and Orchestra by Ernest Bloch.  Other orchestras he has performed with include the BBC Philharmonic, Liverpool Philharmonic, Opera North, Halle and Manchester Camerata.  He has been teaching Brass at Nottingham High school since 1979.


Trombone - Peter Lacey

Peter Lacey is a freelance Trombonist and teacher working throughout the Midlands. He is Principal with the English Pro Musica, English Philharmonic and British Philharmonic Concert Orchestras and is a member of the teaching faculty at Keele University and Birmingham Conservatoire. He has a keen interest in early music and as a Sackbut player he performs regularly with the early music ensemble Minstrel's Gallery.

French Horn - Jeff Snowdon

Jeff Snowdon was trained at the Royal Northern College of Music, studying horn with Ifor James, Michael Purton, Derek Taylor and Julian Baker.  His career as a horn player has included working with many of the country’s leading symphony and chamber orchestras including the BBC Philharmonic, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Hallé Orchestra, Opera North, Manchester Camerata, Northern Sinfonia, Performing Arts Symphony Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, Northern Chamber Orchestra, English National Ballet and Moscow Ballet.  He was a member of the East of England Orchestra until joining the Northern Ballet Theatre Orchestra with which he played for five years.  As well as Orchestral Work he has performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company and many theatrical productions including the West End productions of "Evita" and "Jesus Christ Superstar”. www.jeffsnowdon.co.uk
