Simon Jackson took up classical guitar at age 11 and has studied with some top names of the classical guitar world and also has a degree in jazz. He’ll have a go at any instrument with strings on and has performed a fair bit on didgeridoo. He has performed solo material from folk songs, classical, flamenco and his own acoustic style compositions in folk clubs, restaurants, weddings in many parts of England and Australia.

He is a founder member of Nottingham based five piece band Tangata who play mostly original tunes with a couple of traditional reels and songs thrown in for good measure.  The music ranges in style from rich jazz injected Celtic melodies, to the odd vocal harmony, through to Baltic frenzy and hefty funk to get people on their feet!
