Flute - Steve Hicking
Steve Hicking was educated in Nottingham, his first flute teacher was Ausin Scott, a former Director of Music at at the High School. After leaving the Royal Academy of music he freelanced with several orchestras before taking up a permanent position with the BBC Northern Ireland Orchestra in Belfast, where he lived for eight years. Since returning to Nottingham in 1982 he has continued to freelance but has developed his teaching career both at NHS and also Trent College. He also holds the position of organist at All Hallows' Church, Gedling.
Oboe - Zoe Glossop
Zoe Glossop studied at the Royal Academy of Music and then won the Countess of Munster Musical Trust for a year's postgraduate study at the Rotterdam Conservatoire. After a period as principal oboe of the Orquestra do Norte in Portugal she returned to England and is now busy as a freelance orchestral player, teacher and chamber musician with her oboe trio.

Clarinet and Saxophone - Verity Fielding
Verity Fielding studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Since then she has been a freelance musician and teacher. She currently works regularly for the Welsh Sinfonia and PM Contempory Music Ensemble and in addition to her teaching clarinet and saxophone at the High School also teaches at Uppingham School. Past teaching posts include the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and nine years at Downe House School for Girls.
Bassoon - David Kennard
Dave Kennard, trained at Knellar Hall, the Royal Military School of Music, and went on to be the Principal Bassoon of the Band of the Grenadier Guards for 5 years. He then went to Bath Spa University and studied Music and Educational Studies on a B.Ed degree course, training to be a Secondary music specialist teacher. He was Head of Music in a large split site comprehensive school for three years and later went on to be Head of Woodwind for Avon County before becoming Deputy Head of the Bristol and South Gloucestershire Music Services respectively. He moved to Nottingham in 1999.
