The first stage of the entrance procedure is to complete our online enquiry form.
For entry at all levels we would advise you to come to visit the School, and individual visits around the School can be made on any working day. To arrange an appointment please phone our Admissions Department 0115 845 2232, or use the online contact form, or email us.
Entry Aged 11 (Year 7)
Entrance to Nottingham High School at age 11 is by examination. Once you have returned a completed application form your child is automatically registered for the exam. The next Entrance Examination, will be held in January 2017 for September 2017 entry. The examination consists of a Reasoning test, a Mathematics paper and an English paper. We can usually accept later applications from parents that are relocating to the area.
Following on from the exam, a selection of students are invited in for their interviews and then the final offers are made in the following fortnight.
ENTRY YEARs 8, 9 & 10
Our main point of entry is for Year 7 entry (age 11); however with our recent move to co-education there is now also the opportunity to join the school in Years 8-10. Entry into Years 8, 9 and 10 is by assessments, subject and general interviews. Please note there is no financial support available for students joining in these year groups.
To apply for these year groups please complete and return the below forms.
The School is not licensed by the UK Border Agency to sponsor pupils from outside the European Economic Area (or accept transfers from other schools who can), and by making this application you confirm that you and your child have the right to enter, live and study in the UK for the duration of the education offered by the School.
