Nottingham High School CCF
There has been a CCF at Nottingham High School since the 1940s and if you include its predecessor, the Officers Training Corps, its history goes back for over 100 years. During the 2nd World War an Air Training Squadron was formed. The two sections merged in 1948 to form the CCF with a Royal Naval Section being added in 1954.
All boys in years 10 and 11 have to opt to take part in a service activity, the CCF is usually the most popular of the available options. A significant number of cadets continue as NCOs in the sixth form.
We parade from 1605 to approximately 1730 on a Monday evening. Two field days are held each year, one in the Autumn term and one in the Summer term. Our Inspection day is held in March each year.
The Army Section and Royal Air Force Section Annual Camps are held during the first week of the Summer holidays.
