Gill Hunter's Latest Visit
Gill Hunter with House Captain, Vice Captain and Housemaster
On Thursday 24th February we held a House Meeting to hand over a cheque for £3000 to Gill Hunter who had just returned from Malawi.

An ex-member of the Maths Department at Nottingham High School, Gill left teaching to do VSO work and settled in Malawi where she determined to do something to aid the plight of young boys and girls who could not afford the fees to continue their education.  These fees are often very modest by our standards - only £5 a term in some cases.

For some years now we have donated some of the money we have raised - particularly from the biennial Bumper Fun Day - to this worthy cause.

Gill showed us a DVD explaining how this money changes lives in Malawi.  I am sure we all found the children's stories very moving.  It is extremely rewarding to know that we can have such a direct and positive influence on people's futures.

We also congratulated Gill on her award of the MBE in the New Year's Honours List.
