Catering Policy

Healthy eating is important for everyone. Research shows that many children currently eat a poorly balanced diet, rich in fat. In particular they tend to snack all day. For many pupils, the meal they eat at school is the main meal of the day.
Nottingham High School recognises its responsibility to provide a wide variety of food which meets the government’s standards, and which in turn allows our customers a choice and the opportunity to enjoy a well balanced diet.
We cannot make food choices for customers but the School is committed to providing the opportunity to enable customers to select an enjoyable well balanced diet. We will also assist with the healthy selection by displaying information about food.
The School will make use of vending machines to dispense a variety of snacks and there is nothing inherently unhealthy about vending machines. They should be viewed within the context of the whole provision within the School, and will themselves be stocked with a wide variety of products.
Should you have reason to believe that we are not meeting our commitment please contact either the Catering Manager, Mrs Jane Meehan (tel: 8452242), or the Director of Finance and Estates, Mr Rob Dunmore (tel: 8452210).
Your feedback is always welcome.
