Nottingham High School is located on the outskirts of Nottingham, less than a mile from the city centre. It is well served with road and rail links, and even has its own tram stop.
Travelling to Nottingham High School by train and tram

It is possible to travel directly to the School on the tram from Junction 26 of the M1 (Phoenix Park) or from the railway station. More information at www.thetram.net/maps/highschool.asp
Train
Upon arrival at Nottingham Station take the tram (follow NET signs) and get off at the High School stop. Use the tram link above to find out times, fares etc. It is a very reliable and frequent service.
Travelling to Nottingham High School by car (Sat Nav: NG7 4ED)
From the South and West
- Leave the M1 at junction 25 and turn towards Nottingham (A52).
- Continue on the A52 towards Nottingham.
- At the fourth roundabout continue straight on over the Ring Road, passing the Queen’s Medical Centre on your right.
- Continue for approximately two miles to the top of a hill, where the road bends left at traffic lights (Canning Circus).
- Take the second left into the Alfreton Road (A610).
- Turn right at the first set of traffic lights into Forest Road.
- Turn right at the next set of traffic lights (where the tramway crosses the road) and after the NET tram stop turn left at the Junior School Drive entrance (wrought iron gates).
From the North via the M1
- Leave the M1 at junction 26 and take the Nottingham (A610) exit.
- Continue on the A610 for approximately 3 miles where you cross the Ring Road (A6514).

Continue straight ahead on the A610, still following signs for "City Centre", and through a set of pedestrian lights after 0.2 of a mile.

Go past the Hyundai/Citroen garage on the left, and through traffic lights in another 0.2 of a mile.

Over a railway bridge and through another set of pedestrian lights in 0.3 of a mile, and just beyond that through another set of traffic lights.

After a further 0.2 of a mile, go through another set of pedestrian lights by the "Clarence" pub (on your left) - still following signs for A610 "City Centre".

In a further 0.1 of a mile go through another set of traffic lights, and get into the left hand lane (provided that it is not between 0730 and 0930 when it is a bus lane); go past the "Alma" pub on your left; through another set of pedestrian lights in 0.2 of a mile, and immediately afterwards turn left at the traffic lights between the "Dixy Chicken" and the "Premier Convenience shop" into Forest Road West.

At the traffic lights in 0.3 of a mile (where the tramway crossed the road) turn right into Waverley Street and after the NET tram stop turn left at the Junior School Drive entrance (wrought iron gates).
From the East via the A52
- Approach Nottingham on the A52 as far as the Gamston roundabout, where the Ring Road begins.
- Take the second exit towards the City Centre and follow signs for the City Centre via Trent Bridge.
- At the lights at the T junction (cricket ground on your left) turn right over Trent Bridge and up London Road.
- Pass through another 3 sets of traffic lights and then over a railway bridge, still heading for City Centre.
- At the traffic lights just past Jurys Inn Hotel (on your left) turn left along Canal Street, keeping in the right hand lane after you have turned.
- Pass under the tramway and follow signs for M1 North; these will take you right and then round to the left and then up Maid Marian Way.
- At the roundabout at the top of Maid Marian Way (Cooper Parry on left hand side) take the first exit and then move to the right-hand lane.
- Where the road forks at the top of the hill, keep right (A610 Alfreton Road).
- Turn right at the first set of traffic lights into Forest Road.
- Turn right at the next set of traffic lights (where the tramway crosses the road) and after the NET tram stop turn left at the Junior School entrance (wrought iron gates).
Visitor parking can be found on the left immediately inside the Junior School entrance.
The entrance to the Junior School building is on the left, just past the visitors' parking spaces.
For the Senior School, walk past the Junior School and down the steps at the end of the school drive. Turn right and then left, following the signs to Reception, which can be found at the top of the steps at the front of the School.
For Lovell House Infant School, please use the visitors' parking spaces next to the Junior School, but then exit back onto Waverley Street, walk 100yds down the hill towards the town centre, and Lovell House can be found on the opposite side of the street, on the corner of Arthur Street.
Travelling to Valley Road Playing Fields (NG5 1NX)
From the North via the M1
- Leave the M1 at junction 26 and take the Nottingham (A610) exit.
- Continue on the A610 for approximately 3 miles until you come to the Ring Road (A6514).
- Turn left onto the Ring Road and follow this road (over several sets of traffic lights and roundabouts) for approx. 1.5 miles until you come to a roundabout with the A611 (Hucknall). You will see the playing fields on your left as you approach the roundabout.
- Take the left turn at the roundabout and after 150 yds turn left at the entrance to the playing fields.
From the South via the M1
- Leave the M1 at junction 25 and turn towards Nottingham (A52).
- Continue on the A52 towards Nottingham.
- At the fourth roundabout (approx. 5.5 miles) turn left onto the Ring Road (A6514) heading towards Mansfield
- Proceed along the Ring Road for approx. 4 miles until you come to a roundabout with the A611 (Hucknall). You will see the playing fields on your left as you approach the roundabout.
- Take the left turn at the roundabout and after 150 yds turn left at the entrance to the playing fields.
From the East via the A52
- Approach Nottingham on the A52 as far as the Gamston roundabout, where the Ring Road begins.
- Turn left at the roundabout following the Ring Road (A52).
- Proceed along the Ring Road (A52) for approx. 6.5 miles until the Ring Road (A52) becomes the Ring Road (A6514).
- Stay on the Ring Road (now A6514) for a further 4 miles until you come to a roundabout with the A611 (Hucknall). You will see the playing fields on your left as you approach the roundabout.
- Take the left turn at the roundabout and after 150 yds turn left at the entrance to the playing fields.
