Tonkin’s House is named after Lieutenant F C Tonkin who was a pupil in the School. He was a member of the 1st XI football squad and was a good cricketer and athlete. He studied Dental Surgery at Guy’s Hospital until war broke out and then enlisted in the Kings Royal Rifles. Lt. Tonkin was wounded twice during the war and was awarded both the Military Cross for conspicuous gallantry and the D.S.O.  Sadly he died of his wounds only one week before the war ended.

Today, Mrs Harrison and Mr Simpson are in charge of Tonkin's House. Two Year 6 boys are chosen as House Captains each year and these boys carry out duties for both the House and the School.
