Extra-Curricular Activities
At Nottingham High Junior  School, we recognise that each child is unique and that they have a distinct set of abilities and talents. So, in addition to what happens in the classroom, your child will have the opportunity to take part in the many activities which thrive here.  The range of clubs is huge and he will find plenty to engage him.  We like to be accommodating; if there's something we don't do that he'd like to do, he can start a club of his own.  The activities change each term and incorporate the academic, sporting and musical and expertise contained within the school.
Your child will be able to select their after school clubs each term and be free to choose some of the many exciting opportunities available.

Tennis, Warhammer, Fencing, Chess, Cricket,  Football, Hockey, Netball,  Rugby, Swimming,  School Newspaper, Computer,  plus too many Musical Clubs to mention!

Each and every child is afforded ample opportunity to develop their many existing skills and interests, or just try something different.

Even though we play for the sheer enjoyment of taking part, for those children wanting the competitive element our coaches are top notch and our teams are well renowned for their excellence.

We also aim to challenge children in activities they would not normally experience.  That is why we take your son on trips, both day and residential, to all sorts of places- historical, industrial, cultural and sporting.  We believe that learning must be stimulating, enjoyable and of course, boyishly hands-on.  We also invite people to come to the school to speak, share experiences or demonstrate a skill or art form.  Living and working with others will teach your son a great deal about himself.
