My First Year at Nottingham High Junior School
"In my first year I have enjoyed making new friends. Some of my favourite lessons were Geography, Maths, PE and History. The teachers who taught us were fantastic including Mrs Whittamore and Mrs Sweeney who were both very kind. I have enjoyed competing against other schools at swimming, football and cross-country. At first I felt a bit nervous coming into 3W but now I really enjoy it."
"My first year at the Junior School was harder than Year 2. I have represented the school at table-tennis, football and cross-country and my favourite lesson is games. We had football in autumn, rugby in winter and cricket in the spring and summer - my favourite was football and cricket."
"On my first day at Nottingham High Junior School I was feeling unsure about Year 3 and most of the day the Headmaster was making lots of speeches about the school system and then I received my first star! We had trips to Snibston and Lunt Fort.
I enjoyed watching the rehearsals for the Year 5 and 6 plays and also going to the theatre to watch the pantomime. I have made lots of friends and it has been a brilliant year, I would give it 10/10."
"I was really nervous about getting into the Junior School, but I did. I have made some new friends and have settled in and like having my own desk. I love Warhammer club and I am now in the Warhammer tournament! I like getting house points and stars and love the House I am in."
"My first year at the Junior School has been great, I have learnt to play the violin with one Mr Williams and chess with another Mr Williams who comes in to give us lessons. I have represented my House - Balls, in cross Country, the swimming Gala and Sports Day and all my class did a Nativity at Christmas."
"My first year at the Junior School has been brilliant! My feelings before I came were mixed. I was nervous and excited all at once - it was funny. My classroom is much smaller than my old one, it looks a lot different as well. My favourite lessons are History, English and Games. In History we have studied the Romans, The Anglo Saxons and the Vikings, we also have different lessons like Geography and Maths. I have made lots of friends and I give 3W 10/10."
"It has been a great year in 3W. Mrs Whittamore has been our teacher and taught us well. I have enjoyed choir when we learnt songs for the summer concert and then performed it in front of lots of people. I have enjoyed being in a House and competing against the other Houses, this year we have come second in the efficiency cup. On Monday and Friday we do games, it's really enjoyable. I have made lots of new friends, it's great!"
