Day 3 was spent either investigating the course of a young river, the River Derwent (As Group 1 did yesterday) or studying the lesser beasts - namely mini beasts of the grass and forest and then the pond life in the centre's pond.  Many fascinating small creatures came to life under the magnifying lens after the male instinct for hunting had been satisfied.
