Bosworth Trip
Year 5 had a great day out at Bosworth Battlefield. The boys were taken on a tour of the site of the Battle, and saw where the two sides faced each other on 22nd August 1485. They visited the brand-new exhibition centre, where the battle was vividly brought to life, and where there were plenty of hands-on activities for them to try. They put on some of the armour and were amazed how heavy it was - how could men fight wearing that? The best bits were the weapons demonstrations by Captain Mortimer and Mick the Fletcher, who both seem to have been there since the 1400’s! It was an inspiring, if somewhat bloodthirsty start to the History lessons this term.
