On Friday 14th March 2008, Year 5 began their journey to the Eco-Friendly Activity Centre, Cranedale, situated in North Yorkshire. After a fun Nintendo and iPod packed journey we arrived at 17:00. We had a tour of the centre by instructor No. 1, Tom. Next we went to our rooms to prepare for dinner.
My room-mates were Thomas Jayamaha, Greg Bird and Robbie Risk. Robbie and Greg slept on the top bunks, Thomas & I on the bottom. After we had unpacked in our rooms, we went into the common room which was very cosy. There were 12 leather chairs alongside a table tennis area and a table football area next to a shop hatch.
Upstairs in the common room were some massive leather sofas, where we sprawled out on, played cards or read. There was also a balcony for reading, above the shop hatch. After we had been in the common room for a while, we had dinner, then we were told about the itinerary for the next day.
Finally, we went to bed. I thought we went to sleep early but apparently we were the last room to go to sleep. I thought that couldn't be true as next door had feasts beyond midnight!
In the morning, we woke up, had breakfast (yum yum!) and got on the minibuses to the Yorkshire moors. There we walked down and through a Grithe, had lunch and went pond dipping. It was an extremely fun-filled morning, especially finding little freaky insects in the stream.
