Welcome to the Friends of Lovell House

Lovell House Gardens
Who we are

We are the Friends Association for Lovell House Infant School, run by parents and teachers for the benefit of the boys and their parents.

All parents automatically become members of the association when their sons join the School. We were established in September 2008 at the official start of Lovell House as the infant school for Nottingham High School, so we are nearly as old as the School itself.

If you would like to be more actively involved with Friends please see our Contacts page.

FOLH Year 2 Mums night
What we do

Our aim is to encourage, develop and foster relationships between the boys, staff, parents and others associated with the school. We have found one of the best ways of doing this is to arrange different types of regular social activity. Any money raised through these events is used to provide additional benefits for the boys of the School, but fundraising is not our main priority.

As a result of having additional funds last year the Friends were able to assist in purchasing Easter eggs for the boys and also funded a day out for Year 2 in the summer term, which was our way of saying goodbye and good luck as they continue on with their journey into the Junior School and hopefully leaving them with some fond memories of their time at Lovell House.

We are currently in the process of purchasing some puzzles and equipment for the brain teasers extracurricular club which has recently begun.

What we have done

Christmas Fayres, Quiz Nights and Summer Garden Parties have all featured in our repertoire of events and thanks to the fantastic involvement of so many parents and teachers these have all been terrific fun.

We have also arranged mums nights out and dads nights out to help develop a community amongst the parents and have fun!

If you want to enjoy any future events arranged look out for any announcements in our Upcoming Events or in the school's newsletters.

How do I get involved?

On our Contacts page, you will find a list of all the current committee members and contacts details for them. Feel free to contact your year representative or, indeed, anyone on the committee.

Don't be backward in coming forward with your thoughts and ideas. If you don't want to attend the meetings or be involved with organising or helping at events, but do have  suggestions or ideas, please post them in the Friends of Lovell House suggestions box in reception, or contact Karen Tyler-Smith (chair).

If you would like to volunteer, for example to help run a stall at events (please note that anyone who helps in running a stall will only do so for a limited amount of time so they may enjoy the event itself), then please contact Helen Bowen (secretary) who will add your details to the volunteers list.
