House Swimming Gala 2008

This year's House swimming gala took place on Tuesday, 22nd April, producing many good races with both fast swimming and tight finishes providing nail-biting entertainment for the audience on the balcony.

There were many top performances :
 
Adam Fry (Ma) - 50m back and breast
Hugh Jones (W) - IM and freestyle
Dominic Torr (W) - IM and 50m fly
Andrew Weston (Me) - IM and 2nd in the 50m fly
Chris Brown (Ma) IM and 50m freestyle
Andrew Wright (W) - IM and backstroke
Jorge Phenix-Coyne (Ma) - 50m freestyle and 2nd in the IM
Lewis Wiley (Me) - 50m breaststroke
Seb Smith (W) - IM and 25m butterfly (who also broke the school record in both these races)

The final event saw probably the best race of the night. The cannon (6 x 50m freestyle) was won by White's in the final record of the night as they beat their own record by nearly 3 seconds.

White's went on to win the gala with 139 points, with Cooper's in 2nd place, Maples' in 3rd and Mellers' in 4th.
