This year's school play brought Shakespeare back to the Founder Hall. 'As You Like It' is a complex pastoral comedy, but superb acting and a carefully crafted arrangement helped convey Shakespeare's comic touch well.
The central roles of Orlando and Rosalind, who fall in love, were played by Josh Bachra and Laurie Field. They were very ably assisted by Jenny Bowen, who played Rosalind's cousin, Celia, and a host of other players, including James Banks as Touchstone, the court fool, Richard Hill as Duke Senior, Edward Foster as Oliver, Orlando's brother, Jack Noutch as Jacques, Dominic Ader as Le Beau, and Richard Maddock as Silvius.
The musical accompaniment was provided by Oliver Metcalfe as Amiens.
Thanks go to all the cast and the stage crew, as well as to Mr Wilkinson and Ms Green, for masterminding another memorable production.
