On Friday 26th September, parents, pupils and staff and guests gathered to celebrate the official opening of Nottingham High School's new infant school, Lovell House.

To open proceedings, the guests were entertained by the boys reciting a poem and singing a song.

The ribbon was then cut by the Lord Mayor, Headmaster, Kevin Fear and the youngest boy in the School.

This year is the first official intake for Lovell House.

The school has undergone significant refurbishment, including a two-storey extension with three new modern and fresh classrooms.  All rooms in the existing building have also been modernised and the facilities upgraded.

The school has been named after Sir Thomas Lovell, who helped Dame Agnes Mellers found Nottingham High School in 1513.

Sir Thomas Lovell, was a highly influential figure and sometime Governor of Nottingham Castle, that the School's founder, Dame Agnes Mellers, turned, when she needed help to set up the school in 1513.

We feel that it is fitting to name our new school after such a very special man.
