Remembrance Day 2008

Pupils from Nottingham High School were honoured to take part in the commemoration service at St Mary's Church in Bingham on Sunday, 9th November to mark the 90th anniversary of the end of First World War.
6 boys, all members of the School's CCF, assisted with the service, whilst member of staff, Major Simon Payne took the salute on behalf of the numerous institutions involved in the event.

On Remembrance Day itself, the School commemorated the occasion  by holding its annual remembrance service, in which all the boys took part. The Last Post was confidently played by Jamie Wreford (11 T).

At the same time,  Lt. James Knight was representing the School at the rededication ceremony of the War Memorial in Nottingham City Centre, which had been partly funded by the School.
 
And finally at 2pm members of the Army section of the Nottingham High School CCF commemorated the day by laying a plaque amongst the previously laid wreaths at the School's War Memorial.
 
All in all a busy day for Nottingham High School!
