At the 1st XV Rugby Dinner on 21st April, James Reeson (11S) presented a cheque for £2,000 to Mr Tony Jenkin Jones, Chairman of the Nottingham branch of the sports charity, Wooden Spoon, On receiving the cheque, Mr Jenkin Jones said "This wonderful donation will make a huge difference to the lives of the disadvantaged children and their families that Wooden Spoon supports. Your generosity is greatly appreciated."
The money had been raised by the School as part of its fund-raising efforts to support its forthcoming rugby tour of New Zealand. As well as the donation to Wooden Spoon, the fund-raisers, in conjunction with the Friends of the School, have also been able to make a sizeable donation back to the School in support of the new Sixth Form centre and dining hall development, which is due to commence in the summer.
