Nottingham High School pupil, Jake Hinson (8Y), is celebrating a series of musical victories at the recent Derby Arts Festival.

Jake performed a number of pieces on his clarinet, receiving an outstanding 90% mark from the judges and taking away the Ives F. Ward Cup for the most outstanding woodwind performance at the festival.

Jake also won the woodwind solo class for year 11 and under, and the woodwind solo open class - a fantastic achievement for someone who is only 13!

Jake has now been invited to perform at the winners' concert on June 26th at Derby's Assembly Rooms, as well as performing with the Derby Concert Orchestra.
