Practising doctors will be well aware that to be a successful applicant to medical school a candidate has to have some work experience under their belt. It has recently become more difficult than it used to be to arrange work experience at the QMC and City Hospital through the usual channels.
As a result I am asking for help. If any doctor feels that they might be able to offer occasionally an opportunity for one of our pupils in Year 12 to gain some work experience, then I would be delighted to hear from you. The idea would be that when a pupil approaches me for help in arranging work experience, I then circulate his request, including some details about him, to our e-mail list of doctors who have offered to help. There is no expectation at all that you might say yes every time, but any occasional help you can give would be very much appreciated.
If you, or a colleague, are interested in helping the High School and its pupils in this way, then please let me know, either by e-mail at lamb.j@nottinghamhigh.co.uk or by telephoning or writing to the school.
Many thanks for your help with this.
