 A2-Level Physics

You are following the AQA Physics A syllabus (code 2450).  The specification for this can be found here. 

The course comprises 2 theory units (40% of the A2 course, 20% each of the A-level course) and 1 practical skills based unit (20% of the A2 course, and 10% of the A-level course). 

Unit 4 : Fields and Further Mechanics.

• Momentum;
• Circular Motion;
• Simple Harmonic Motion; 
• Gravitation;
• Electric Fields;
• Capacitors;
• Magnetic Fields and Electromagnetic Induction.

Unit 5: Nuclear and Thermal Physics (including an optional module).

• Radioactivity;
• Nuclear Energy;
• Thermal Physics including kinetic theory and the gas laws.
• One option from Astrophysics, Medical Physics, or Turning Points.

Unit 6: Practical Skills Assessment

This unit will test your practical skills in the following areas:

• Selection and use of various equipment
• Processing of data,
• Making observations and measurements,
• Analysing and evaluation of results.
