Following the ending of the Government Assisted Places Scheme, Nottingham High School has introduced its own Bursaries (this is the term used for financial assistance towards the fees, these are means-tested and can provide help up to full fees depending on parental income) to be awarded to boys entering the Senior School at either age eleven or sixteen. Awards of Bursaries will be calculated on an annual basis and parents will be required to submit details of their finances each May or June. The Bursary awarded will be based on this return and will not be affected by any change in the standard school fee. Parents who wish their son to be considered for assistance must be prepared to provide confidential information concerning their financial situation.
Nottingham High School Bursaries may be up to the full published fees, but parents will have to pay for school meals, uniform and other necessary clothing, travel costs, and any other additional charges which may be incurred during the academic year.
A family may be eligible for Bursaries for two or more sons simultaneously.
We have produced a Frequently Asked Questions document, that aims to answer some of the most commonly asked questions about our bursary scheme. This can be found in the attachment at the foot of this page.
If, after reading this, you still have queries about Bursaries, please telephone the Finance and Administration Manager, Mr Barry Nicholls, (0115 845 2209) for clarification.
Any award (Part-Scholarship or Bursary) may be withdrawn at the discretion of the Governors and Headmaster if a boy's conduct or academic performance proves unsatisfactory.
