The Royal Naval section is the smallest of the three sections. Nevertheless it attracts a number of committed cadets who enjoy watersports and make good use of the many excellent courses run by the Royal Navy. These are wide ranging in nature, and run throughout the school holidays at minimal cost, and as many cadets as possible are encouraged to attend. The section also has regular trips to Naval Bases, and there are opportunities for cadets to gain experience on the water, especially with the recent refurbishment of the new section boat, CCF One.
The section regularly visits Rother Valley on its field days, taking part in sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and rafting. In the past, it has also used the waterskiing facilities there. Like other arms of the CCF, RN cadets also have the opportunity to shoot, and undergo weapons handling and safety training. They also have the opportunity to attend the RAF and Army annual camps, which helps them to develop many skills which they bring back to the RN section.
Courses
The Royal Navy makes a great number of courses available to cadets at minimal cost, and these are open to any cadets from any section. These are residential, and travel to/from the camp is paid for by the MOD. Courses running this year include:
