Junior Wargames

What is Wargames?

There are various well known, and some not so well known explanations of our curious hobby:
 
  • Playing With Toy Soldiers?
  • Simulating the trials and tribulations, decision making and general hellishness of military command?
  • A less stylised version of chess?
  • An excuse to act out scenes of gratuitous violence without actually hurting anything (normally)?
 
We think that the hobby is (generally) best described by a combination of the first two although at times it can be hard to tell.

Who Are We?

We meet once a week in the Junior Library on Wednesday lunchtimes and play various games ranging from Napoleonic Naval battles, through World War II and on into the far future of the 41st Century with Warhammer.  The Junior Wargames Society is always open to new members in Years 7-9.
