Coopers Logo

Members of Cooper's House wear a black and white tie with a blue stripe

The house is named after Frederick Cooper, a generous benefactor.  In 1872, he bequeathed land to the School, the proceeds of which were used to offer scholarships to some pupils.

Each member of the house is allotted to one of the nine tutors.  Each tutor has an assistant. A tutor is responsible for a boy's pastoral care throughout his entire school career.  A tutor will guide his tutees through important decisions, such as option choices and university application; be on hand to help with any problems or difficulties that he may encounter in any aspect of school life; act as a point of contact between tutees' parents and School; and, generally, keep a watchful eye on his progress and development during the time he is at Nottingham High School - and often beyond.

Cooper's House has an excellent record in inter-house competitions. Over the past decade we have dominated the competition. This year, we are very keen to continue our winning streak, so everyones effort is much appreciated, and vital to success.

We also have a strong tradition of raising funds for charity: last year we collected £1500 for the British Heart Foundation. This year our charity is CLIC Sergent, supporting children with cancer.
