Autumn Concert 2012

This year's Autumn Concert took place on Tuesday, 27th November in the majestic surroundings of the Player Hall.

Playing to a packed audience, it was an opportunity for all the High School's talented musicians to share their music-making with each other. The concert featured all of the School's major ensembles: Sinfonia, Orchestra, Windband, Concert Band, Swing Band, Big Band, Joint Choir, Lower School Choir and Cutting Harmony.

The evening featured a wide range of works including Philip Sparke's evocative 'Spirit of the Sequoia' for Concert Band; Elgar's 'Serenade for Strings'; Eric Whitacre's witty 'Animal Crackers'; Strommen's 'The Opening' for Big Band and some of Tippett's powerful arrangements of Spirituals.
