For the first time Nottingham High School has scored 100% pass rate in the recent A Level exams. It also scored its highest ever % of A - C grades (95.2%), and its second highest ever % of A and B grades (81.8%).
43 boys got 3 grade As or better, with 11 getting 4 grade As, 5 getting 5 grade As and 1 boy - Ted Pynegar - getting 6 grade As!
As well as achieving As in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French, Maths and General Studies, Ted has just returned from international success in Japan, where he won a silver medal in the International Biology Olympiad. Ted is going on to Trinity College, Cambridge, to study Natural Sciences.
82% of the students will be going on to university, with a further 12% applying for university in 2010.
Headmaster, Kevin Fear, was "thrilled with these results". He added, "These are excellent results and richly deserved. For 43 boys to have gained at least 3 A grades is particularly pleasing and I would like to congratulate them and their teachers."
