Haiti Earthquake Appeal
In response to the terrible situation in Haiti a rapid ‘Red Bucket collection’ was started by Pupil Librarians and many pupils seized the initiative immediately, volunteering to take the buckets around each lunchtime and giving generously. By Tuesday the ‘Eco-Schools’ group had taken the reins and organised a collection after the Year 7 Disco. This was increased by the Community Action Group who donated their Disco ticket and sweetshop sales. By Friday the collection had reached in excess of £661 and to this the School added £1000 from a future Non-uniform Day, making a grand total of £1661. All in all many boys, affected by the news and anxious to do something to help, rose to the challenge and acted quickly.
The money collected was immediately paid into the Disasters Emergency Committee Haiti Earthquake Appeal. Well done everyone who got involved!
Crazy Tie Day
Thursday, 4th February was designated Crazy Tie Day, when boys (and staff!) could come in non-regulation ties to raise money for the 4 House charities:

White’s – Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
A total of £425.63 was raised - as well as many smiles at the grand array of ties on display!
