University Professor visits the High School

Professor Penny Gowland visited Nottingham High School on 4th December, to give a talk on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Imaging.  Professor Gowland started her talk by describing the physics behind the imaging technique and went on to outline her research on the brain and the gastrointestinal tract.

Her talk was illuminated by a large range of medical MRI scans and the large audience of staff and students thoroughly enjoyed her visit. At the end of her talk, Professor Gowland stated that students thinking of taking medicine at University were best served by taking all three sciences at A-level.
