Pupils take part in County Archery Championships

Archers from County Championships Feb 2012
Year 10 archers with Terry Davey, President of the Notts Archery Society

Year 10 pupils, Tom Westhoff, Rowan Lee and Fabian Martin, all took part in the Nottinghamshire Indoor Archery Championships last weekend. A further Year 10 pupil, Jack Hadfield, was also scheduled to take part, but unfortunately his plans fell foul of the bad weather!

All 3 boys did exceptionally well, with Fabian coming 3rd in the Junior Gentlemen Barebow category, Tom Westhoff coming 3rd in the Junior Gentlemen Recurve category, and Rowan Lee being crowned the U14 winner and county champion in the Junior Gentlemen Recurve category.

One Year 12 archer, Jack Barratt, who entered under his club Bingham Leisure Centre AC rather than the school, did shoot in the 15 and over section and because he was the only boy in his section to shoot, he was therefore crowned the Nottinghamshire 15 and over champion.

All the prizes were presented by the Lord Patron for the event, Terry Davey, the newly elected Nottinghamshire Archery Society President.
