Sports Day 2013 was held in very difficult and challenging conditions on Thursday, 18th April. However, the standard of competition, the behaviour of the spectators and the overall atmosphere of the day was excellent, culminating in the excellent staff relay race just won by White’s.
There were a number of notable achievements, including:
Year 8
Ivan Ellis won the 100m, 200m and Shot
Sam Bowling won the 400m, 1500m and Hurdles
Year 9
Ollie Kerr won the 200m and 400m
Armarni Saunders won the 100m and Long Jump
Joshan Gangotra won the Shot and Discus
Year 10
Josh Lloyd won the 200m and 400m
Alex Barlow won the 800m and 1500m
Ross Jackson won the Long Jump and Triple Jump
Year 11
Alex Jones won the 400m and 800m
Jamie Atkinson won the 100m, Long Jump and Hurdles
Tom Banks won the High Jump and Shot in a new Sports Day record of 12.69
Seniors
Moranga Mokaya won the Long Jump, High Jump and Hurdles before being disqualified for wearing the wrong kit in the Hurdles.
Luke Dudley won the Shot and Discus
Michael Costante won the 400m, 800m and 1500m
School Athletics Captain, Alex Henley–Good, won the 100m and 200m
This year, the Geri Thomas Sports Day Shield, awarded to the best performer on the day, goes to Michael Costante.
