Coursework on the First World War is the very first thing boys do in Year 10. There are three coursework essays to be produced worth a combined total of 12.5% of the final GCSE mark.

- The Battle of Somme - were the British soldiers 'lions led by donkeys'?
- The War in the Air
- The War at Sea
- The end of the war in 1918
