About the library
The library, which has recently been refurbished, is situated on the second floor of the main building and comprises a Library reception desk, an Upper School and a Lower School library, and a Library/Archive Office. It is staffed by one full time Chartered Librarian, and two part-time library assistants. Between 4 and 6 pm the library is staffed by an After School Supervisor.
The Upper School Library is for the use of Years 10-11 and the Sixth Form. As well as a stock of approximately 10000 books, the library provides newspapers, magazines, CDs, cassettes, DVDs and videos. There is also a large collection of careers and university information. The library has a stand-alone computer which can be used to search the library catalogue. The Sixth Form also have the exclusive use of eight, internet linked computers, which are situated at the back of the library.
The Lower School Library, is for pupils in Years 7-9. It has similar resources to the Senior Library, including over 6500 books, careers information, newspapers and magazines. Laptops may be borrowed and used here for school work. This library also has a stand-alone computer for accessing the library catalogue.
Printing and photocopying facilities are available for all students.
