Nottingham High School

2018 results

Nottingham High School achieved a stunning set of A Level Results, with 64% of all passes at the highest A* and A grades.  A quite remarkable 52 students have gained 3 A grades or better.  28% of all passes were at the top grade of A* - matching last year’s record figure.

With a 100% pass rate, the 2018 cohort excelled:  97.3% of passes were at C or above, 88.5% at B or above.  15 students gained at least 3 A* grades and four gained at least four A* grades.

Kevin Fear, Headmaster, said:

"We are simply thrilled with these outstanding results which demonstrate both that our teachers inspire but also that our students have responded magnificently to the challenges of the new-style A Level exams."

A total of 11 students secured places at Oxford or Cambridge Universities and at least 15 have prestigious places to study Medicine. The vast majority of our students gained their first choice of university places.

“We are delighted with this superb set of results which again show the value of our move to co-education in recent years," Kevin Fear said. "There are so many highlights for our students, their families and our teachers to celebrate.  This year group has also contributed so much more outside of the classroom and so they leave us with brilliant qualifications but also they have become really impressive, quietly confident young people ready to move on to their further education.”
