Nottingham High School A Level Results 2026
Weeks of anticipation and trepidation came to an end as Nottingham High School’s outgoing A level students received what have transpired to be a superb set of A Level Results with 28% of all passes at the top A* grade and 65% at A grade or above. An incredible 61 students have gained three A grades or better, and 13 achieved at least three A* grades.
In a marketplace where there is much competition for jobs, apprenticeships and university places, the 2026 Leavers have secured a wide range of opportunities from Accountancy to Theology, with destinations from Exeter to London to St Andrew’s. 5 students have gained places at either Oxford or Cambridge Universities and 15 have gained entry for Medicine.
Andrew Holman, Headmaster of Nottingham High School, said: “We are so proud of our Year 13s who have worked so hard to secure these outstanding results, and it was wonderful to see so many happy faces today, filled with the prospect of the next chapter of their lives.”
“We mustn’t forget that these young people have hardly had a settled secondary education – they were in Year 7 when Covid hit, and it is fantastic to see their longstanding effort and resilience rewarded with excellent academic outcomes. We should also remember that this cohort have combined their scholarly pursuits with extraordinary contributions outside the classroom – be that through sport, music, drama and so much besides. They leave us rounded, confident and ambitious.”
“The students would, I’m sure, wish to join me in thanking the High School staff for everything they have done to help them towards the successes we’re seeing today, and their parents for the support and belief that has underpinned their educational journey. We wish our Leavers a happy and successful future, and look forward to hearing about all of the exciting things they’ve been up to.”
